Casting the web wider
By ShowMeTheMoney | March 6, 2006
Although affiliate marketing using Clickbank products and PPC campaigns is our primary revenue model and we have been doing fantastically well, its an inheriently unstable sort of endevour. If you dont actually own your own product, sites and content then you are basically at the whim of the vendors whose product you promote. Now dont get me wrong. I am not saying there isnt good money to be made affiliate marketing, and I dont see it disapearing over night. But is it really a good long term stratergy to rely on income you have little actual control over? I dont think so. Which is why I have been looking at some other internet projects. Its always good to have multiple sources of income. You can find more on this theme over at Ed Dales blog. In particular you should take a listen to his “Golden Goose theory” of why you should sell your web sites at some stage even if they generate you lots of monthly income.
