CPA Campaigns - The way forward?
By ShowMeTheMoney | September 24, 2006
I have had a couple of days considering the “Life after AdSense report”. Whilst its undoubtedly the most interesting marketing PDF I have read this year, as primarily a Clickbank affiliate is he really telling me anything new? If you have come from building a straight AdSense virtual real estate type project then running PPC ads, building landing pages and monitoring campaign performance etc is probably a bit of a shock. It takes a lot more involvement than just mass producing pages with AdSense ad on them. Thats why I estimate 90% of Clickbank affiliates probably make peanuts, they dont want to invest the time or money in testing what campaigns work and what dont! From my point of view I guess he is confirming that you can make decent money just running CPA (cost per action) campaigns. The whole thrust of his report is based around this. A CPA campaign focuses on collecting leads, such as name and address and email rather than getting paid commission for an actual sale. You can see that its probably easier to acquire a lead and get paid for doing it than it is to sell the actual product. The punter has not actually bought anything at this stage only submitted his details yet we still get paid for producing a lead. Anyway I am definitely up to investigating this further over the next week or so.
