The Adwords Thought Police
By ShowMeTheMoney | October 27, 2006
As it turns out Google Adwords support does live on another planet. In fact it may even be in another universe. The saga continues. This is what I got back today:-
Hello Martin,
Thank you for your email about your disapproved ads. I have reviewed your ads in Campaign ‘Blah de Blah’ Allow me to explain why your ads have been disapproved for unacceptable content.
At this time, we do not allow devices that tamper with products to access data or manipulate fees. We consider this to include products that descramble cable and satellite signals in order to get free cable services.
If you have any other questions about your editorial or content guidelines, please visit:

We look forward to providing you with the most effective advertising available (Yeah Right!)
Sincerely,
Helen K
The Google AdWords Team
I figure maybe its some sort of demented automated bot reads the support email, picks a totally inappropriate response and blasts it back? Either that or Helen K has had too many late nights and far too much caffeine whilst sitting in the Google Bunker… Honestly I am not trying to sell anything controversial or run weird ads. I can see literaly dozens of ads for the same thing running now, some with almost identical wording. Its almost every time I put an Ad up now the Adwords “Thought Police stamp on it. The editorial guideline are being interpreted with absolutely no common sense at all. At least with the other PPC engines you only have to wrestle with the bad interfaces not the human element as well.
