Why Affiliate Projectx Sucks for you and me!
By ShowMeTheMoney | November 15, 2006
I bought Affiliate Projectx a few weeks ago. If you have been following any of the recent affiliate product launches then you will know this has been heavily promoted as the best Adwords / Clickbank product marketing guide. To be honest most of these guides just leave me cold, all hype and no substance. The reason I bought this one is that it directly addresses exactly what I do day to day and secondly its was written by someone who lives and works in the same town as me, here in the UK. Now I wont say it has made me tons of money but I certainly think he has some good ideas about how to chose the right Clickbank products to market in certain specific ways. Anyway I’ve been testing some of the methods with mixed results and I will explain why I think this is:-
I think the problem with any of these “How to” e-books is that once the methods are released to the general affiliate marketing community it basically degrades the methods effectiveness within days. This is because you will find everyone immediately starts trying to market the same products in the same ways. Now Clickbank may claim they have 10,000 affiliate products you can promote. As I have pointed out before about 90% of these are pure crap. Maybe 10% can be promoted with any realistic chance of making money. So you have to be honest a relatively small pool of products that the average affiliate will consider worth promoting.
Just looking at the Google Adwords Ads for many of the top selling Clickbank products and you will find they are saturated with ads following the Projectx methods. When I say saturated I mean all the first page of Google Adwords Ie 8+ ads are virtually identical bar a few tweaks. Ok the landing pages will differ but to be honest the biggest problem is getting someone to click on your ad in the first place. You just get a constant churn of affiliates posting Ads for the same product and then dropping out again when they dont make money. Now this is fantastic news for the product vendor, pretty poor news for the individual affiliates.
I honestly think the only people who are making serious money off this method are the actual product vendors. Now dont get me wrong competition is usually a good thing but this is just plain stupid. The actual act of telling people how to do this stuff has meant its potential as a real money making process for affiliates has been rendered maybe not useless but certainly pretty feeble. To be fair not all the methods advocate pure Adwords to Clickbank traffic but this is where most of the affiliate action is going to be concentrated. I just dont think it does anybody any real favors except the author.
I do think Projectx is a good product with lots of useful information, its main problem for you and me is its just been too good at selling itself! Ironic but true.
